God, I hate LED Christmas Lights
Sure, they're brighter, give off purer colors, and use less energy than traditional incandescent lights.

But they flicker. They evidently use cheapass converters that either just chop off half of the waveform or don't even bother and just throw it all at the LEDs, resulting in a 60 Hz flash. I can't stand it. And I hate it when I'm driving, and eye-movements turn the lights not into the usual smear of color, but into a series of dashes. This is the same reason I hate LED brake lights on cars; they do the same damned thing.

I don't like them either. I hate the flicker. It hurts. Same reason I don't like a lot of those twisty energy saver bulbs - the light hurts.

See, I don't mind the compact fluorescents -- the good ones. Nowadays most of them have good phosphors in them that keep that flicker from occurring. The one I use to light my bedroom doesn't, and that's the reason I switched.

They could fix the whole LED issue with a halfway decent power converter, but, oh no, that might bump the price up $0.75 or something. An LED powered from pure DC doesn't flicker; they're using cheap converters that just lop off half the AC curve so you get a 60-Hz DC pulse. The LEDs on my computer don't; that's because the power supply puts out very clean DC.

I didn't notice. Though mine were hung across the windows behind curtains. I wonder if Mum and Dad noticed? Theirs were on the tree, in full view. I shall enquire.
